The acting Regional Minister for Economy, Industry and Innovation, María Jesús Lorenzana, highlighted the opportunity provided by the Galicia Fórum Gastronómico to showcase the quality of Galician products under the Galicia Calidade seal.

Lorenzana today visited the fourth edition of this forum, which is considered to be the largest professional gastronomic event in northern Spain and which, as of yesterday, has already been visited by more than 9,000 people, she said. In the previous edition, it registered 22,000 visitors, with 200 exhibitors, 65 speakers and more than 30 Michelin stars taking part.

The Regional Minister explained that Galicia Calidade has its own stand with tastings, samplings and presentations of the products certified by the seal plus six companies of the brand that have a separate space. "We aim to highlight the value of Galician agri-food products, their excellence and uniqueness and, in particular, our Galicia Calidade brand, which aims to make Galician products of all kinds, the most important of which," she explained.

Along with this, he also highlighted the large presence of other departments of the Xunta in this edition. This is the case of the Axencia Galega de Calidade Alimentaria (Galician Food Quality Agency), which has its own stand and activities to promote Galician products. The Regional Ministry of the Sea, which has a classroom for tastings and to publicise the quality of fish products. The Department of Employment Promotion and Equality, which is publicising social economy formulas in this sector. And Turismo de Galicia, which supports this event because of Galicia's long tradition as a destination for gastronomic tourism.
